Rising young lyric soprano Danielle Miyazaki is in increasing demand on both concert and operatic stages. She recently returned from the 2024 tour of Japan as soloist with the legendary Roger Wagner Chorale. Hailed for her “shimmery, warm sound” and “captivating stage presence,” she is equally at home in the Susannas of Mozart and Floyd, the comedy of Die Fledermaus, and the drama of all three heroines in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. With an extensive repertoire that spans the Baroque (Eurydice, Belinda, Alcina) to Gilbert and Sullivan (Mabel, Josephine, Yum-Yum) to the contemporary (Jenny in Mahagonny), she was recently heard in the world premiere of Pinizzoto and Luna’s Peach Boy and is featured on the original cast recording. Having performed on several Los Angeles series, including Sundays at Three, St. James Presents, and Music at Noon, the soprano has essayed roles at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and the Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico, with upcoming engagements of Handel’s Messiah and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. Miss Miyazaki’s concert repertoire includes Hadyn’s Creation and the Requiems of Brahms, Fauré, and Mozart. She studied Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia, holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Chapman University, and is currently a practicing Board-Certified Music Therapist.
