Mezzo-soprano Danielle Marcelle Bond has been recognized for her vibrant, expressive vocal performances as wells as for the depth & commitment she brings as an actor. Highlight roles include Hannah/As One, Carmen, Tisbe/ Cenerentola Marilyn Monroe/ Marilyn Forever, Olga/Eugene Onegin, Mother/ Amahl & the Night Visitors, La Ciesca/ Gianni Schicchi, Hermia/ A Midnight Summer’s Dream.
She has also had the privilege of creating & premiering roles with composers such as Duchess in Stewart Copeland’s Invention of Morel and the immense honor to bring to life Lady of the Charts, dramatizing the intensely profound memoir of Dr. Elyn Saks’s journey with schizophrenia in Kenneth Wells’ opera The Center Cannot Hold. Her international debut was as Maddalena in Rigoletto with Opera Classica Europa. She has sung with many regional opera houses including Long Beach Opera, Pacific Opera Project, Opera Santa Barbara and is a regular ensemble member at Los Angeles Opera.
In 2022, her debut solo album O Come Thou Spirits Of Death: Halloween Tales of Gore & Folklore was created & released with collaborative pianist Milena Gligic and Grammy Award winning producer & engineer Brad Sayles. In 2017, she sang the operatic solo for Beyonce’s Grammy Award performance & was part of that night’s win for Best Opera Recording as part of the ensemble cast and Witness 3 in Los Angeles Opera’s Ghosts of Versailles.
Ms. Bond also uses her vocal & musical skills for film, TV and video game scores, as a voice over artist, on camera performer & improviser. She curates concerts that include opera improv to create songs on the spot, engaging with the audience in unique & fun ways.
